Nail care: How to keep your natural nails and press-ons beautiful
At Snow Nail Designs, we believe that beautiful nails start with proper care. Whether you're new to press-ons or already have experience, the right tips will help you enjoy your set longer and keep your natural nails healthy.
Preparation before application
- Wash your hands thoroughly and dry them well.
- Gently push back your cuticles with a cuticle stick.
- File your natural nails short and buff lightly so that the glue adheres better.
- Remove any grease or dust with an alcohol wipe.
Tip: Avoid hand cream or oil just before application.
While wearing press-ons
- Avoid prolonged contact with water, such as long showers, baths, or washing dishes without gloves.
- Don't use your nails as tools, for example for opening cans.
- Use cuticle oil to keep your cuticles healthy and supple.
- If a nail comes loose, carefully stick it back with a drop of glue.
Removing press-ons
- Soak your hands in warm water with a little nail oil or mild soap for 10–15 minutes.
- Use a orange wood stick to gently pry the press-ons loose.
- Never simply rip the nails off your natural nails to prevent damage.
- You can remove any glue residue with a soft polishing file.
General nail care
- Use cuticle oil regularly for healthy and strong nails.
- Keep your nails clean and short to prevent cracking.
- Hydrate your hands daily with a nourishing hand cream.
